SKF provides China Heavy Duty Trucks with separate hubs, tapered roller bearings and seals

CNHTC commissioned SKF to provide SKF discrete card wheel hub units, tapered roller bearings and seals for its new trucks. Bearings and bearing units will be produced by SKF's new plant in Jinan, China. The new plant will have an investment of approximately SEK 590 million and the seals will be produced at the SKF China Wuhu plant.

SKF said in a statement that SKF's strategy is consistent with China's 12th Five-Year Plan. SKF will continue to increase investment in manufacturing, R&D and personnel, and is committed to supporting the development of Chinese customers. SKF's new Jinan plant is scheduled to be operational in early 2012. During SKF's supply of some products to CNHTC and other Chinese truck and trailer manufacturers, the new plant in Jinan will play a pivotal role.

SKF's sales in 2010 were approximately 61 billion Swedish kronor (about 9.5 billion U.S. dollars, 61 billion yuan), and 27% of net sales came from Asia. Half of it came from China. From 1995 to 2010, SKF Group's sales in China grew at an average annual rate of more than 30%, with 2010 sales of RMB 7.3 billion.
